Subject: Regional ADA Paratransit Stakeholders meeting
Dear Regional Paratransit Stakeholders:
A Regional Paratransit Stakeholder Meeting has been scheduled for May 24 to
provide an update on recommendations being made to the RPTA Board of
Directors. At the meeting, we will review the status of
* The In-person ADA Eligibility determination Program and the hiring
of a contractor
* The proposed ADA bus and rail pass
* The recommended location for the Valley Metro Mobility Center (to
house the In-Person Eligibility Program)
* The timeline for implementation
Stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment on the recommendations.
Regional Paratransit Stakeholder Meeting
Monday, May 24, 2010
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Disability Empowerment Center (DEC) of Arizona
5025 E. Washington Street, Suite 200
Phoenix, AZ 85034
The Stakeholders' group has been meeting periodically since the beginning of
the Valley Metro Regional Paratransit Study in the Fall of 2006. The group
has provided valuable input throughout the study process, and has continued
to be an important resource as Valley Metro seeks to implement improvements
recommended by the Study. We hope you can join us for this meeting, as well
as for future meetings as we continue to make recommendations for
improvement to ADA Dial-a-Ride in the Valley.
Dial-a-Ride service to the meeting location will be provided by Valley
Metro. Please contact your local dial-a-ride to schedule the trip.
You may also access the site by Valley Metro bus or Metro Light Rail. Use
Route 1 Washington Street going eastbound for the most direct access to the
Disability Empowerment Center (DEC) of Arizona.
If you are using Metro Light Rail, (whether travelling eastbound or
westbound) exit the train at the 44th Street station; transfer to the
eastbound Route 1 Washington Street; and exit the bus in front of the DEC.
Please Note: due to the Light Rail tracks, there is no bus stop on the
westbound Route 1 with direct access to the DEC.
If you need any bus or light rail trip planning assistance, call Transit
Information at 602-253-5000 or use the online trip planner at
www.Valleymetro.org.
Qualified sign language interpreters are available with 72 hours notice.
Materials in alternative formats (large print, audio cassette or computer

please call Nichole Myers, Valley Metro at 602-534-1937 or TDD at

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We look forward to
seeing you on May 24th.
Thank you,
