Medical Expert Seminars

Leading ophthalmologists and leaders in the medical field will cover topics
such as age-related macular degeneration, stem cell research, low vision
glasses, and pediatric low vision. As time permits, an open question and
answer period with the doctor will follow. The presenting doctors are
prominent faculty members with UCLA's Stein & Doheny Eye Institutes, UC San
Diego Health's Shiley Eye Institute and the International Academy of Low
Vision Specialists. 

Low Vision Workshops

Braille Institute's low vision workshops and classes provide those who are
experiencing low vision with information and new ways to continue the life
activities they love like reading the mail, shopping, cooking, navigating
and more. Some of the topics of February's workshops include technology &
apps, understanding vision loss, contrast, safety, and lighting. 

All participants are welcome to join our free workshops. Many of our
instructors are blind or visually impaired themselves and can show you what

Dr. Granet, a Pediatric Ophthalmologist is a returning key-note speaker at
Braille Institute, San Diego who will grace us with his vast knowledge on
this topic. He is a dynamic, world-wide educator and speaker, in countries
such as Singapore, China, Australia, India, and England, among others. He
also co-founded the World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and has
published over 150 articles, chapters and books.
