Below are the April minutes.  Sorry, things got crazy this week and I did not have a chance to finish the May minutes.

 

At Large Chapter Meeting

April 19th Minutes

 

1.       Members Present:  Cathy Gaten, Tiffany Manosh, Michael Hingson, Tobby Weisman, Nelly Cardenas, Eric Weaver, Carmen Weatherly

2.       Pledge of Allegiance:  We all said the Pledge of Allegiance

3.       NFB Pledge:  We all said it together

4.       Secretary Minutes:  Minutes approved after correcting my last name.  Cathy asked if we are holding off to sending 100 to the hospitality and we will do it next year.  We will be sending Elsie $100 and I will send that out.  Tiffany moved to approve and Carmen seconded the motion.  Motion Passed

5.       Treasurer Report:  

a.	Beginning balance    $1,485.75
b.	Monthly Pac Plan            -10.00
c.	Income - Dues

                                                         i.      Bill Pasmore          14.21

                                                       ii.      Jana Dues               14.21

d.	Ending Balance:        $1,504.17

5.	Members Update:  Toby reported those she called which included the following folks, Mike Hingson, Sheli Alongi Cline, Cast, Hight Tech center at Orange Coast College
6.	Birthdays: Tiffany asked if there were any birthdays this month.  Toby stated it was Roy Paysn’s this month.  
7.	Presidential Release:  Cathy played the release.  The highlights included increased membership, members should ask questions about the organization, read our publications, and advocacy.  The legislation items included Medicare telehealth, Library of Congress, Department of Education, Access Technology Affordability Act HR 1529, Texas vs Kennedy, and National Convention  President Riccobono urged it members to readh out to congress to push for co-sponsors.  Carmen asked if there was a template.  Cathy mentioned that an email had been sent out with a template when contacting our members.
8.	National Convention:  Tiffany shared that National Convention will be July 8th – 13th in New Orleans.  Registration is now open til May 31st.  Main hotel is Marriott and the overflow hotel is Sheraton.  Those attending from the chapter are Tiffany, Michael, Carmen and Cathy.  The rest will catch it virtually.  Cathy asked about the convention grant.  Tiffany was not sure if the Kennith Jernigan Convention grant is still open.  She thinks it is closed at this point.
9.	Fundraising:  We discussed having a Poppin Popcorn fundraiser.  We discussed how long to hold the fundraiser and it was agreed to do it for 3 weeks.  Tiffany & Mike will work to get it up and advertised on the list servs.  Mike made the motion and Carmen second it.  All were in favor and the motion passed.
10.	Announcements:  Mike share he had a new heart valve and all is going well.
11.	Adjournment:  Tiffany Made the motion to adjourn and Mike seconded it.  All were in favor and the motion passed.  We adjourned at 8:05 pm
