Hey Deepa,

<Deepa, if you could post this to them CABS listserve, I'd appreciate
it. I'm not a member, so can't post there easily.

I've been using facebook lately and I recognize that they've started
using more ajax in their website, which makes things easier for
sighted folks, and is sure to cause us problems.

As has been noted elsewhere, using the latest versions of jaws (jaws
10), window eyes (not sure), and firefox (3.x) will improve things.
Firefox is a replacement for your internet explorer browser and can be
found here http://www.mozilla.org/firefox

Alternatively, you can try using the mobile version of facebook.
Mobile doesn't mean you have to use it from your mobile phone, it just
means that it is a version of facebook which will work better on
mobile phones. Try pointing Internet Explorer at
http://m.facebook.com/ Note that you'll need internet explorer 7.
Internet explorer 6 won't work. You can find out which version of IE
you're using by going to the help menu, and selecting "about internet
explorer"

Hope this helps,

Jim

For any messages following from the same person, there is no sound at all. You just have to keep checking the messages above the edit box to see if any new one has come in. At least this applies to JAWS users. I have JAWS 9.0. If you need more clarification, feel free to email me at dgoraya at ucla.edu.

It takes forever to read what I've written after I'm done typing. It only goes back to reading the message properly after I've posted it. The same applies for sending a private message to someone. It didn't used to do that before, just recently. It always used to read my message back right away before I sent the private message, or before I tabbed to the post button. Has anyone else experienced this in the last two or three weeks?
