This is to inform you that on Sunday, Dec. 21st, Central Valley Chapter president Jan Kafton suffered a minor stroke.  It seems apparent that her speech center was affected, since she does not respond to questions or directives, and half the words she uses are not in English or any other recognizable language.  She is currently in the hospital at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, and all prayers for her recovery are greatly appreciated.  It remains to be seen whether she will be able to carry out duties as chapter president.
