Subject: Update on Jan

Pass the word along to anyone who may be interested: Jan is showing definite signs of improvement since her stroke. She seems to be understanding at least part of what people say to her, and is doing a better (if still imperfect) job of communicating her wants and needs to others. She is also taking liquids by mouth, which means there is hope of soon removing the feeding tube they have going into her nose (which has been a major source of irritation and agitation to her). She's even been doing some singing, from what I understand. It's still too early for a real prognosis, but it's looking much better for a recovery than it did even 2 days ago.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. The hospital staff suggest it may well be that prayer is the best real treatment that can be offered right now.
