Who? The National Federation of the Blind of California, NFBC
What? An organizing party to create a local chapter in the Union City, Fremont and Newark area.
Where? Starbucks, of course! 1752 Decoto RD., Union City
When? Saturday, March 14 at 1 P.M.
Why? To meet other blind people like you.
Are you blind or visually impaired? If so, come join in the fun. The NFBC is organizing a new local chapter and we need you. Come help and create our new chapter. For more details please contact Lisamaria Martinez at 510-289-2577.
Through the NFB you can learn about:
· Scholarship opportunities for blind high school and college students;
· Cool new ways for blind students to participate in science, math and engineering;
· How to access technology (including computers and cell phones);
· Resources for blind seniors;
· Networking opportunities for blind professionals;
· Local resources for blind people in the Bay Area.
There are many concerns that blind and visually impaired persons deal with on a daily basis. The National Federation of the Blind, NFB, the largest organization of blind persons in the nation, tackles many of these issues. The NFB passionately believes that it is respectable to be blind and that any blind person can live happily along side their sighted community members. The first step in becoming a successful blind or visually impaired person is to find other blind and visually impaired people who share your same concerns. The NfB is here to help you.
