To be read at all chapter meetings:

I begin this monthly bulletin with an Irish New Year’s message. “

“An Irish Toast”. “In the new year, may your right hand always be stretched
out in friendship, never in want.”

We begin this year with great hopes and anticipation of a productive 2010.
Join us and let’s make it happen.

Washington Seminar 2010:

Our representatives from California have been chosen and notified. We will
have a team of 16 Federationists attending meetings with our representatives
to educate them about concerns about issues facing the blind for this
upcoming year.

We will be sending two College Leadership participants and two national
scholarship winners and two parents. Everyone will begin arriving in
Washington D.C. onFriday, January 29, 2010. There will be a student seminar
on Saturday and a parents seminar on Sunday. All those who can stay will
meet on Monday for the great gathering in meeting and walk the halls of
Congress and the Senate for the next three days. Californians have their
work cut out for them with 52 representatives to see. What an exciting,
thrilling experience it will be. I can’t wait to read the reports.

Call to action:

The Disability Rights Advocates are representing the NFB in a lawsuit
against the Law School Admissions Council to remedy access barriers
on its website. Currently,
the website contains many barriers including the on-line law school

apply to law schools in the near future, we would like to talk with
you. Please call or email at larryp at dralegal.org 510-665-8644.

qquality of services being received by clients. If you have been a client
in the last 5 years or know someone who was, please go to our nfbcal.org
