[Nfbc-info] Inaccessible Coke Machines

Hello,

Touch screen or any other type of vending machines have never been
accessible except what you stated below--vending machines located in a blind
training facility. When the NFB first embarked on the inaccessible POIS, it
had been discussed about braille overlays for them, but I never seen any.
Fortunately, the POIS resolution and the NFB's pro-action to have these
machines accessible has made all the difference in the fact that there is
both a touch screen and key pad to make independent transactions. The only
place that I am forced to be dependent upon others is at the wells Fargo
bank when I need to access a teller. Their ATM POIS machines are not
accessible. They can plug-in a key pad, but for the most part the tellers
are very lazy. Instead of making a scene, I give them my ATM card to make
the transaction and then ask to speed with the branch manager to make the
complaint. I am not sure if this has been an effective approach, but I tend
to want to educate and ask for a contact person at the corporate office to
explain that their ATM touch machines located at the tellers windows are not
accessible and that they are in violation. JMO.

I don't think I have ever found an accessible soda machine at all.
Well, except those at blindness related facilities because they specifically
mark the buttons, so whether they are touch screen or buttons, I don't find
them all to be accessible.
