New Tools for State Budget Advocacy

Use these new policy papers to educate yourself and others about important disability-related issues.

When you are educating yourself and others about important disability-related issues in the next state budget, please consider using papers from the 2013 Priorities for People with Disabilities in Wisconsin <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/bpddlegislativepolicy.cfm> series.

These policy papers can be used by self-advocates, families, and others in the disability community to better understand disability issues at stake in the state budget process. The papers are also designed to be used by disability advocates when meeting with legislators and other policymakers.

Please share these papers as widely as possible! Advocates are encouraged to incorporate these papers and the information they contain in websites, blogs, social media, newsletters, etc. If you would like a copy of a graph, a chart, or a map to include in your communications, please contact Joshua Ryf at joshua.ryf at wisconsin.gov.

2013 Priorities for People with Disabilities in Wisconsin series (all papers are available in color and black & white versions):

· Employment <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/2013wipolicystatements/Employment.pdf>

· Family Care <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/2013wipolicystatements/FC_IRIS.pdf> & IRIS Expansion

· Long-Term Supports for Children <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/2013wipolicystatements/CLTS.pdf>

· Medicaid <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/2013wipolicystatements/Medicaid.pdf> & Health Care

· School Vouchers <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/bpdd2013legpolicy/School%20Vouchers%202013.pdf>

· Special Education Funding <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/bpdd2013legpolicy/Special%20Education%20Funding%202013.pdf>

The 2013 Priorities for People with Disabilities in Wisconsin <http://www.wi-bpdd.org/whoweare/bpddlegislativepolicy.cfm> series was developed by the Disability Policy Partnership, which includes the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities, Disability Rights Wisconsin, and the Waisman Center.
