Subject: Majority of Veterans Affairs Committee now signed on in support of
HR 164

Good Afternoon All,

I am pleased to let you know that we have gained cosponsor support
from a majority of the members of the House Veterans Affairs committee on HR
164. While the Veterans Affairs Committee is not the primary committee of
Jurisdiction, the committees support of this legislation will help to bring
other members on to the bill. Overall the bill now is showing 162
cosponsors; I have attached the cosponsor documents to this message. We are
just 55 cosponsors short of a majority in the House, and I think we can
easily reach this by Convention. Members of Congress will be out of
Washington for the Memorial Day recess next week, and I hope that you will
take advantage of this time to set up meetings in the district. Thanks to
the work of our Washington affiliate, we have gained our first new Senate
cosponsor of S 346 in a couple of weeks, as Senator Cantwell became the
thirteenth cosponsor of the Senate Space Available bill. I appreciate the
work you have all done on this legislation, and will be happy to provide you
with any information you need. Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Jesse
