Qualifications/Requirements
. The qualified candidates must have a master's degree or higher from
an accredited graduate program in a mental health related field (such as
social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
. A valid unrestricted behavioral health license/certification from a
state, the District of Columbia, a U.S. Commonwealth, or a U.S. Territory
that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent
practitioner.
. At least 2 years of post-graduate degree counseling experience.
. Must be a US Citizen
. Must be able to successfully complete criminal history background
check.
. Absence of any license suspension or investigation
. Absence of being terminated for performance under any government
contract.
. Absence of debarment, suspension, or other exclusion under the
HHS/OIG List of Excluded Individuals.
. Absence of malpractice concerns
. Absence of professional sanctions for ethical violations
. Proven training and/or experience in treating children and/or
adolescents (CYB counselors only)
Job Responsibilities:
. Working knowledge of military, state, federal, and local resources.
. Working with family programs and/or advocacy services, military or
civilian social service agencies or a military family member with full
understanding of the military lifestyle.
. Understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for service member and their
families.
. Ability to develop trusting helping relationships.
. Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from
diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
. Ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional
judgment, ethical practice, and commonsense.
. Ability to work independently to develop, implement, and evaluate
safety and intervention plans to meet individual and family needs.
Education/Experience Requirements
Masters Degree in a mental health related field
Special Requirements:
Must be legally blind
US Citizen
Homeland security clearance required, includes drug screen and criminal
background check.
