Subject: [Nfb-legislative-directors] TIME Act update thirty-five states

Dear Colleagues,

Two thirds of the affiliates have now been in touch with their Congressmen
and Senators regarding the TIME Act. As of today, we have two weeks
remaining in the August Recess, and there is still time to reach out to your
legislators. Some affiliate legislative directors are being told that their
Congressmen and/or Senator is booked for the remainder of the Recess.
Please don't be deterred because it is still possible to schedule an
appointment to meet after the Recess when your legislator is next in the
District. See if they will go ahead and schedule your appointment now or at
least let you drop off the fact sheet, cover letter, and perhaps business
card.

I am listing below the thirty-five affiliates so far which have engaged
their Congressional offices this month. Thank you for your efforts, and
keep up the good work!

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho,
Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,
North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota,
Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia,
Wyoming.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
