Dear friends, 

as some of you already know, Guadalupe Mendez, Miguel Mendez's father,
passed away Friday morning. It was very sudden, and as you can understand,
has left the family reeling with shock and grief. I spoke with Miguel a few
minutes ago, and while he has stayed strong, this is of course a very
difficult time for him. To those of you who have called, texted and messaged
him on Facebook or by email, your loving support means the world to him.

So often at a time like this the grief of losing a loved one is complicated
by the logistical concerns involved in making the proper arrangements. These
things are expensive, and as I found out when my own father passed, most of
the payment is required up front. I have included a link through which we
can give some financial assistance to help take this burden from the
shoulders of Miguel and his family. For whatever you can do, I know Miguel,
his Mom, and the entire family will be very grateful.
