[Nfbc-info] thoughts

For what it's worth, I emailed Rob privately immediately after I received the message, telling him I personally found his email incredibly inappropriate for the listserv. He responded promptly and stated that he had re-formatted his contact list (or exported it or something along those lines) and that the email had accidentally been sent out to everyone in his contact list unintentionally. He did not mention being hacked or getting malware, only that he reformatted or transferred his contact list and accidentally sent the message to everyone on the list. He was very apologetic in the email he sent back to me. Unfortunately, I saw no need to keep his reply so I deleted it, otherwise I would cut and paste it here so all could see his explanation. I don't think he can respond to the list now since he was removed.

I'm not trying to defend him, but wanted to share the explanation he sent me since he's not on the list and able to do so himself. I would hate for him to be "shunned" in the future due to what seems to be an unfortunate mistake on his part (or so he claims).

what has happened here is that everything on Rob's email list got this message including this list serve. I have been receiving messages individually from everyone who individually responded to the message because they are replying to all instead of replying to sender unless this is occurring as a result of some malware which might be a possibility. I for one have not received any explanatory email from Rob apologizing or justifying why this message was sent which leads me to believe that there may be a computer problem.

This whole thoughts thing is confusing. Sometimes I get emails with that word as the subject line, but it doesn't show the nfbc indicator. Sometimes, as with this email, it does show nfbc. I don't want to leave the real nfbc list, but I'd like to get off whatever list just shows the 1-word subject line. Somebody please clear this up? Thanks.

Keep smiling. People will wonder what you're up to.
