Hello Jordan:
I am so glad that you are reading the communication from our state office.
I think you might like to know that I am the one who made the decision to
offer two prices for these luncheons (OCB, LCB and CCB and DAN)
You might appreciate knowing that none of the lunches cost any where near
what I have declared. If we charged what the hotel actually charges us, the
lunches would cost more like $40.00.
I did not think that was fair to ask of attendees. The training center
lunches will probably consist of pizza and the DAN lunch will be a properly
calculated diabetic lunch complete with closely monitored protein, sugar and
carbs. Joy Stigile, our DAN President is very careful about seeing to it
that our members with diabetes are receiving the correct amount of
nutrition.
I am sorry if you don't like it but I am certain you will understand why we
want to make sure that we pack those buses and fill that convention hall
with people who really need to hear about our love, hope and determination
to live the life we want.
Getting people to the convention is more important than trying to make any
money off attendees.
Btw, although the banquet is only $30.00 the real cost is more like $50.00.
It is through registration fees and exhibit hall vendors fees that we are
able to discount your meals.
I hope this helps you to understand. So gather your friends for a fun
packed bus ride up to Newark on Thursday, October 29; get your hotel
reservation made before the deadline (October 5) and then make sure that you
pre-register to get a seat on the bus. The bus will stop in Riverside and
pick you up if you do so.
Go to www.sixdots.org
Please let me know if you have any problems completeing the pre-registration
form.
Sincerely,
Mary Willows .

The National Federation of the blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams.
You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Y'd you up the price of the Dan luncheon? In 2014, it was $20, and now you
have upped it to $25. The price ought to be left alone, and not increased
every dang year.
