[Nfbc-info] Procedure

The irony of it all is that who needs medical transport vans more than
disable people, most of them are on Medicare. I have called them about this,
& of course it falls on deaf ears. Thank you for all of the help on this.

No it doesn't. if you were part of a Medicare Advantage program it would
most likely cover it.

I'm on Medicare. Medicare doesn't cover medical transport vihicles. Thanks
for the suggestion.

Medical facilities become very concerned about liability after a procedure.
They do this for all of their patients, not just blind ones. One option
would be to find out whether your insurance including MediCal covers use of
a medical transport to get you home. In many cases this is covered by
MediCal or whatever managed care plan you have.

Good evening all: Tomorrow afternoon I am having an eppadurral done @ a
surgery center here in Victorville. When they asked me if someone will be
driving me home, I told them that I would be using pera transit. They told
me that since pera transit is not a medical transport system, they won’t
allow that. The center is 2 miles away, & a taxi costs $20 to go 2 miles. Is
there anyway around this issue?
