Seminars at Hadley Presents: Balancing Act: Fall Prevention for Older Adults
with Vision Impairments

Fall prevention is a critical concern for older adults, their families and
caregivers. When vision loss occurs, falling risks often increase unless
individuals adopt specific strategies to maintain safety and independence.

Join Low Vision Focus @ Hadley as Anne Cowles, MPH, describes "Balancing
Act," an initiative devised to be a tool for fall prevention. Ms. Cowles is
the fitness director with the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine's
U-ExCEL (Exercise  & Conditioning for Easier Living) program, and has worked
to develop comprehensive fall prevention training that is not only directed
at the general population, but is designed to be accessible to those with
low vision.

Ed Haines, Instructor and member of the Seminars at Hadley team, will moderate
this 60 minute seminar. A question and answer session will be included as
part of the seminar.
