Thank you for sharing this with our Federation family in California.
I honestly wanted to share my story because I hoped it might bring about something positive in the mind or heart of someone somehow.
Many people tell us that we “can’t” do a given thing, and we hear it so many times that we begin to believe it to be true.
The NFB showed me that I didn’t need to believe that I “can’t”do a given thing just because I was blind.
Members of the movement cared about and believed in me, and I will e never forget those folks.
When I went through a period of vision loss, it was what I learned from my family in the movement that got me to realize that while losing one’s vision is certainly a loss, it is most certainly not a defeat.
I am very thankful to those here in California that have impacted my life, and have allowed me the chance to impact others. I don’t want to take up more of this message to name them all, but I think they know just who they are.
Thank you,and let’s go build the federation!
