[Nfbc-info] FYI FW: [NFB-Legislative-Directors] Outreach to House Armed Services Committee Members Needed!

Michael Hingson mike at michaelhingson.com

Hi all,

Please see the email below from Parnell Diggs. I urge everyone to contact the Armed Services Committee as Parnell suggests. We need to communicate our requests to the committee to support our Space Available Act, HR2264, and to put the language of the bill into the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act. Remember that hearings on the NDAA begin tomorrow. So we need to flood the committee with calls today. Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Michael Hingson

Andrew,

It would not hurt to call the Armed Services Committee at 202-225-4151 to express your support for H.R. 2264 and ask that the language be included in the NDAA. As information, the Chairman is Mac Thornberry of Texas; however, there is no need to ask for a particular individual if you are calling the Committee as a resident of a state not represented on the Committee.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Make a gift to the National Federation of the Blind and help ensure all blind Americans live the lives they want

Hello
What should we do if we don't have a member sitting on the Armed Forces committee? Is there a way we can still help?

Thank you in advance

Andrew Harmon

"The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back."
