Hi Christopher,
My name is Marianne. I just went on the tutoring website and tried to
download the demo tutoring lesson. I had difficulties with Jaws to reach
that. Do you have any friends who work for adaptive technology companies.
If yes, they may be able to be of help to you, more than I can.

Best Regards,

P.S. You can email me privately, so that we can exchange phone numbers and
keep talking on accessibility.

Subject: [Nfbc-info] Looking for information on the Chegg Online Tutoring
Platform and accessibility: writing because offices are based in Bay Area

Hello all.

My name is Christopher Sabine, and I am a Federationist and Secretary of the
Cincinnati Chapter in Ohio. I'm writing today because I have accepted a
position as a tutor for the Chegg Corporation. Chegg provides online
tutoring and textbook rentals to secondary and post-secondary students. I
need to know if the online platform Chegg uses is accessible to screen
reader users on a Windows-based PC.

So far, I've posted to my local and state affiliates as well as the National
Organization of Blind Educators Division list and received no response. I
also spoke with Clara from the National Braille & Technology Center on
Thursday. Not surprisingly, no one there has heard of Chegg and its
services.

I'm posting to your affiliate list because Chegg is based in Santa Clara, so
it's possible the company might have done some outreach to the State
Affiliate or the three Chapters that could serve Blind Employees-the Bay
Area, East Bay or San Francisco Chapters-might have dealt with them
directly. I'll be emailing the presidents of these three chapters
individually. I've also tried to contact Chegg's support community by email,
but again, not surprisingly, no results.

Any information about how to contact this company and / or any outreach it
might have done with either the Federation or another blindness organization
in CA would be greatly appreciated. I'm really looking forward to this
opportunity and hope I don't have to miss out on some extra income because
of accessibility issues.

Very Best Regards,

Chris
