I'm not sure why Google maps says it's a 5 hour journey to Milpitas from San
Francisco.

>From SFO, you'd take the BART all the way to Warm Springs, which is roughly
a 90 minute ride.  From Warm Springs, you can cab/uber/lyft to where you
want to go, or possibly take the bus or see if the place you're headed to
provides a shuttle from the Warm Springs BART station.

If you're flying, I highly recommend flying into San Jose (SJC), rather than
into SFO.  Depending on where you're going, you could cab/uber/lyft from the
SJC airport, or take the bas to where you want to go, or see if the place
you're headed provides a shuttle.
