Good afternoon, everyone!

Do you love meeting other blind people who share your goals and
interests? Are you trying to decide whether or not to go to school to
pursue a career? Are you a blind person who wants to learn skills to
become more self-reliant but are unsure where and how to start? Are
you a parent, educator, or supporter of a blind individual and would
like to learn how best to help him or her succeed? Do you love
learning about new and innovative access technology? Are you a guide
dog user wanting to connect with and learn from other guide dog users?
Are you a blind student wanting to build meaningful connections with
other blind students and mentors? Are you a newly blind individual who
feels lost and unsure of where to turn?

If this describes you in any way, then the National Federation of the
Blind of California's state convention is for you! Don't miss three
days of enriching and empowering opportunities to make connections,
learn new skills, and get your questions answered from November 7
through November 10 in Milpitas, California. We will have
presentations on careers, advocacy, and technology (including
information on the self-driving car), meetings for special interest
groups, including students, guide dog users, parents of blind
children, and people with diabetes, classes on using the white cane,
and many vendors who will be demonstrating cutting-edge technology and
adaptive devices.

Below is the link with all the information and registration for
convention, including the scholarship application for students.
Remember, discounted registration and room rates will end on October
15, so don't wait too long to register. If you have any questions or
concerns about convention, including needing help to find a roommate
or information on transportation, please feel free to reach out to me
off-list or contact your local chapter president.

Don't miss this chance to attend the largest gathering of blind people
in the state. I hope to meet all of you at convention!

Best,

Rachel
