Dear NFB of California members,

Time is approaching for the November NFB of California convention in Milpitas. A highlight of each convention is the discussion and adoption of resolutions designed to change the world in which we live. Any member can draft a resolution; if your argument is persuasive your resolution may become one of the official outcomes of the 2019 Convention.

Drafting and adopting a successful resolutionneeds to follow some hard timelines. The first deadline is to get your draft resolution to Resolutions chair Bryan Bashin no later than Friday, November 1st at 5:00 pm. Approximately one week later, during convention, the Resolutions Committee will hear your proposed resolution and vote to recommend it or not to recommend it for adoption by the General Session. Two days after the committee votes the entire convention will vote on recommended resolutions. If the resolution passes, it becomes the formal policy of the California affiliate and is distributed to those for which it is intended.

California is still filled with programs that aren't working for the blind, technologies that stand in our way and policies that never had us at the table. If you are passionate to help move the experience of blind Californians forward, now is your chance to start writing and submitting your draft resolution.

Please send all such resolutions or questions to:

Bryan Bashin
Resolutions Committee Chair

Thank you!
