I work for OptumRx United Health Group (UHG) as a Senior Auditor on the
Quality, Audit, Recovery and Data Governance Team. I am located in Irvine,
California and provide direct support to our team's Vice President. 

 

UHG created a Diversity Inclusion Hiring effort for 2020, targeting "All
Abilities Hiring." By Our team set this goal in 2020 to support the UHG
efforts and set out to hire individuals with a disability which would
challenge us. We have had tremendous success and brought on two deaf
employees this year. It has been a rewarding process to see the success they
bring to our team and we have learned so much from them. 

 

There are many challenges that come with applying for employment when you
have a disability. I have personally seen the struggles that come with
overcoming these barriers in the workplace. My younger brother who is
Autistic has struggled to find a company that is willing to work with him
and oversee societal misconceptions. It is a true passion of mine to help
individuals with disabilities in the workplace find the perfect job. I am
proud to work for a company that wants to embrace individuals for their
skills and not discriminate because of a disability. Our team is inspired to
make a real difference and would love to bring on representatives from this
overlooked population. 

 

We have a new position open our team and feel this would be a perfect
opportunity for someone who is a part of the National Federation of the
Blind organization. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is
looking to learn and grow within UHG. We hope our hiring efforts will
inspire more companies to bring on individuals with disabilities.
