------------------------------------------------------------

The Braille and Talking Book Library is pleased to announce that
circulation of braille and talking books, descriptive DVDs and talking
book machines has resumed.

Patrons may now return any remaining library materials in their
possession as we will be able to process returned mail daily.

BTBL staff will continue to process new applications for library
service. The Braille and Audio Reading Download service known as BARD
is available and we are processing new BARD applications. We urge you
to register for BARD, where you can get all the books you want without
receiving physical items in the mail. BARD has been improved in the
last few years, and is easier to use than ever--especially BARD
Mobile, which allows you to listen to books on your smartphone or
tablet. To register for BARD, please visit
https://nlsbard.loc.gov/nlsbardprod/CA1A/ApplicationInstructions.html

As before, we are unable to resume normal telephone service. We hope
to facilitate full telephone service as soon as possible, and in the
meantime we are still available through email at btbl at library.ca.gov
(mailto:btbl at library.ca.gov) .

To receive updates about BTBL’s status, please call for recorded
announcements at (800) 952-5666, or visit our web site: btbl.ca.gov.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you,
BTBL Staff
