Friends,

Welcome to March, and thus, Women’s history month. I think about all
of the women who have been integral in my life, both within and
outside the Federation: my mother and sister, Ever Lee Hairston,
Rachel Grider, and Rochelle Houston to name a few. This email would be
too long if I listed everyone.

Why do we need a month to recognize women? We wouldn’t, if women were
constantly recognized on an equal footing with men for our
accomplishments and our part in history. I hope that some day, we will
achieve this. Until then, we should take time, this month and always,
to thank and think about the women in our lives.

Convention Registration opens today, and it’s a little closer to home
since we’ll be in Houston. Visit nfb.org/convention for details.

One update for you, from the Pathfinder chapter. They will activate a
Double Good popcorn fundraiser today at 5:00 PM Pacific. The link will
be distributed by someone around that time.

They are also having a Casino fundraiser on April 1st. Bring your
ID’s. Here are the details:

WHERE: Viejas Casino and Outlet Mall
WHEN: Saturday, April 1st, 2023
PICK UP LOCATION: Green Line Park and Ride, Parking lot, 11901 South
Crenshaw Blvd. Hawthorne, CA Cross Street: 120th St.
TIME: 8:00 AM  (The bus will leave at 8:30 AM sharp and will not wait for
anyone!)
RETURN: Approximately 7:15 PM
DONATION: $21 (no refunds)
You MUST be 21 years and older with a valid government issued ID
Deadline to submit donation: March 15, 2023
