To all who experienced the unfortunate hacker who Zoom bombed our Sacramento
organizing meeting last Monday night, we sincerely apologize. The
inappropriate

behavior was not caused by any members of NFBC or CCB. A review of the
incident suggests that it was caused by a non-blind individual. The
individual

gained access to our open meeting link as it was widely posted on social
media and public email lists. As the host of the Zoom account, NFB of
California

takes responsibility for the mistake. Our account permissions settings
unintentionally allowed this Zoom bomber to exploit our attempt to be open
and

welcoming to all Zoom attendees. Future meetings will have the waiting room
or webinar and user permissions set to ensure that online bullies cannot
disrupt

us in the future.

Most importantly, NFBC and CCB will not let this online bullying stand in
the way of our important advocacy. We have rescheduled the Day of Action
meeting

interrupted last Monday night to reconvene on Tuesday, May 19, at 7:00 p.m.
A Zoom moderator and host from both CCB and NFBC will be present, along with

additional security settings.
