The state convention allows members from local chapters across the state to get together, reunion style, to renew old acquaintances, and meet new friends. Scholarship applications and instructions are available from our website at www.nfbcal.org. The affiliate is asking for everyone's support and participation with such a worthy cause. The "You Cane Give Initiative" is relying on everyone to collect all the broken and unused canes you are not using. The broken canes will be re-furbished and sent to blind people in need. They also ask if possible, to donate a new cane or a monetary donation (make checks payable to NFBCA, if you do not have a broken or unused cane to donate. The collection of canes and donations will be during the NFBCA 2018 State Convention. There will be a box inside of the Exhibit Hall on Friday and also during General Session on Saturday . Each member who donates to the "You Cane Give Initiative" will be entered in a raffle to win a gift from the KustumCane.com Company of Tennessee! The House is able to support many families through the backing of the local community partners. <BR /><BR /> <BR /><BR />Pull for the Ronald McDonald House!<BR /><BR /> <BR /><BR />Support the Ronald McDonald House by participating in the pull tab collection program. Pull tabs are the aluminum tops from cans of soda and other beverages. The funds raised by this recycling are used to help support the day to day operations of the House. The time is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. They will also be raffling off a two hour private sailing cruise, This fantastic raffle will be drawn during the State Convention, around the Long Beach Harbor. You and five of your closest friends or family can sail the Long Beach Harbor for two hours with Captain Mark on the boat name JAZZ. Tickets are $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20. The Pathfinder chapter will give a scholarship to a blind College student at our state convention and they are selling raffle tickets to help fun this event. First prize is an Echo Dot, second prize is another Echo Dot and 3rd prize is $50 cash.
