> Griffith Park Hike to Vista View Point
> Sunday, January 2, 2022 – 9:00 AM
>
>
> Meeting location: Franklin's Cafe & Market
> (at the Roosevelt Golf Course).
> 2650 North Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027
>
> Join Hearts For Sight and Sierra Club for our first hiking trip in 2022!
>
> We will walk on a wide paved road (great for social distancing), with vistas across mountains, valleys, and cities. Then we will return the same way. The full trip will be about 3 miles round trip, with 500 feet of gain.
>
> Wear comfortable shoes, layers of clothing because it could be hot or cold or both, and a hat, with a day pack big enough to carry everything. Loaner equipment available; just ask. Bring bottled water, along with snacks and lunch. Only guide and service dogs allowed.
>
> We will meet in front of Franklin Café at 9:00 AM. Please schedule your Access pick up no earlier than 2:00 PM.
> HFS and Sierra Club continue to adhere to all public safety protocols during these times, so ADVANCE RSVP IS A MUST. First come, first serve. Please let us know if you need a sighted guide.
>
> If you are sick in anyway or have been tested positive for COVID-19 or awaiting your results from the test, please just stay home. You also must wear a mask and have hand sanitizer or alcohol. Be aware that there may be a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated participants.
>
> SIGHTED GUIDES NEEDED. As interest in our hikes for the Visually Impaired continues to increase, so has our need for sighted guides. Please spread the word so that every VIP gets their own guide. No experience necessary. Just be willing to help and we will teach you everything you need to know.
>
> This hike is cosponsored by Hearts For Sight and Sierra Club. Participants must sign liability waivers for both organizations. Waiver forms will be provided when you RSVP.
>
> If you are interested in volunteering as a sighted guide or to RSVP, please be sure to contact Racquel Decipeda via email at hearts4sight at gmail.com, or call 818-457-1482
