Pathfinder Meeting minutes January 21,2021 
 
*Meeting was called to order by President Rochelle Houston at 10:00AM
*Meeting Attendees: Rochelle Houston, Charlotte Carroll, Corlesha Bryant, Arietta Woods, Elizabeth Pezone (guest), Jeffery Sims, Michael Maxwell, Michael Richardson, Nellie Cardenas, Nicolas Rocha, Sandy Balani, Shelbi Felter, Tina Thomas, Treva Syph, Vernell Lowery. 
Prayer: Jeffery Sims recited a beautiful prayer blessing the chapter meeting and our members 
*Pledge of Aleigence: Recited by Tina Thomas 
*NFB Pledge: Michael Richardson  recited the NFB Pledge      
*Meeting Minutes: There was no meeting in December 
*Treasurer’s Report: The Financial report will be email to everyone by our chapter President, Rochelle Houston. Jeffery asked about $40 going into our fund raising accountand it was to be split between the scholarship and fund Raising Committee accounts. Chapter President Houston also informed us that Betsey Estrada is our treasurer, however, she has yet to be added to our account due to the Pandemic. 
National Report: As of this writing, National Convention will be held from July 6-11,2021 in New Orleans LA. President Houston asked if anyone has had an opportunity to listen to the January Presidential Release by our NFB National President Mark Riccobono. The president said she would send the YouTube link to everyone. 
National Scholarship: The NFB gives out 30 scholarships every year at our National Convention ranging from $3000.00 up to $12000.00 to Blind students attending a four year University and demonstrating academic excellence. Scholarship information can be found on our NFB website at: www.nfb.org. All applications and supplemental materials are due on March 31,2021. 
*State Convention: Our 2020 State Convention was held virtually due to the Pandemic. It went very well being our first using the Zoom platform. 
*Social Media: The chapter discussed our social media presence and it was decided that Tina Thomas would look in to getting our chapter our own listserv, so that we can disseminate information pertaining to the chapter as well as other announcements. Nicolas Rocha talked about a app called reddit, and it was also mentioned that we have a Facebook page. Tina T, said she would look into these matters. 
*Committee Reports: 
Scholarship: Scholarship committee Arietta Woods stated that the Scholarship Committee gives out a $500.00 to one Blind student who demonstrates 
Academic excellence. Chapter members are encouraged to give donations. 
Fund Raising: Chairperson Charlotte Carroll stated that as of now, there is nothing to report. However, we have sold candy, held a reception and our annual barbeque. 
*Chapter Development: Chairperson Michael Richardson discussed some apps that would be useful to us. For more information on anything technology, contact Michael. 
* Outreach: Chairperson Tina Thomas suggested that we take our 10 Annual reception Virtual. The chapter agreed. Tina T, will with her committee and put together a program. 
*Other business: 
Dues: Our dues cycle is from October to October and they $25. Contact our President for details on how to pay dues. 
Birthdays: Tina T, Lena F, and Ruthie H, have birthdays in January. 
Adjournment: Charlotte C moved to adjourn it seconded by Michael R. Meeting was adjourned at 11:31AM.
