You don’t need to be a member of the NFB to apply, and you don’t even need to reside in the Central Valley. See below for details.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Our national convention is just around the corner. It will be taking place in New Orleans from July 5 through July 10, and there will be a great deal of fun and informative activities regarding legislation, access technology, advocacy, and so much more.<br class=""><br class="">As you can imagine, attending the convention in person does not come cheap. In addition to the $25 registration fee and $70 banquet ticket, there is the cost of hotel, travel, and food to also consider, bringing the cost for one person to attend convention close to $1,200-$1,600 altogether. We understand that this may be out of reach for some, so the Central Valley Chapter would like to help.<br class=""><br class="">The Central Valley Chapter will be providing a $500 grant to help one person attend National Convention. Preference will be given to first-time convention attendees, but you don't need to be a member of the NFB to apply. If interested, please send a short essay to <a href="mailto:rachel.grider@gmail.com" class="">rachel.grider@gmail.com</a> no later than May 6, outlining why you would like to attend convention and what you would like to take away from it. If selected, you will be required to attend certain meetings at convention, including the board meeting, resolutions, the California caucus, all general sessions, and the banquet.
