Happy New Year to all of you!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's celebrations with family
and loved-ones.

The National Federation of the Blind of California, San Fernando Valley
Chapter is hosting a self-defense class this month of January that will be
provided by 1Touch Project.

When: Saturday, January 13 from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM (right after our chapter
meeting).

Where: Tarzana Medical Center North Conference Center Building (Building B)

18321 Clark St., Tarzana - cross street Reseda

Cost: $10.00 per person (cash only please)

Must bring cash on the day of class.

We need to have a maximum of either 20 or 30 participants. We need to have
an even number of participants, so if you unfortunately ended up being the
19th or 23rd person on the list, you may not be able to participate. It
would be best to register in pairs to ensure you will have a partner for the
class.

If you are attending the chapter meeting in the morning, please make sure
you bring lunch. You may also go to the nearby food places but must be back
by 1:20pm. Class will start promptly at 1:30pm. If you are taking Access
Services for transportation, please schedule your trip a little after 5:00
PM.

Who is the 1Touch Project: The 1TouchT is the first comprehensive
descriptive self-defense program designed specifically for people who are
blind. The program is a hands-on self-defense technique for dealing with
assaults, aggressive behavior, and bullying. 1Touch explores participant's
hidden assumptions regarding their own disability -- their personal
perception of their blindness and insecurities built upon that perception.
The 1Touch Project is primarily a method of personal development. More
information are available on the document attached or online at
http://www.1touchproject.com/about.html.
