If you would enjoy supporting our mission and the work we do at Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) to create exceptional partnerships between people, dogs, and communities, then consider joining the team as our Canine Welfare/Neonatal Program Coordinator at our beautiful campus in San Rafael. In this highly visible role, you will manage communications, administrative and reception functions of the kennel office; manage and track the flow of dogs into and out of the Canine Welfare/Neonatal Department’s care; and generate reports 

regarding kennel populations and health trends to assist in defining issues and forecasting needs.

Your keen attention to detail and expert organizational skills will ensure our high standards of service for Guide Dog staff and clients, as well as the day-to-day operations of the kennel office. A hands-on team player, you will occasionally work in the kennels, with volunteers, and with the dogs as needed.

The qualifications you’ll need:

*    Minimum of three years of administrative experience preferred

*    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook); Salesforce experience desirable

*    Ability to communicate with a diverse constituency where sensitivity and confidentiality are critical 

*    Ability to lead others and work as a member of a team 

*    Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and handle a variety of large-breed dogs weighing up to 90 pounds

*    Experience caring for dogs in a kennel or vet environment helpful
