The Resolutions Committee will be working on submitted</span><br><span>draft resolutions beginning next week. We're eager to know what's been</span><br><span>bothering you, what needs to change, and how the NFB of California can</span><br><span>increase disability rights and social justice. But we need to hear from</span><br><span>you, and our deadline is this Sunday, October 10th at 5:00 pm.</span><br><span></span><br><span>Your draft resolutions can be just that -- drafts. The committee members</span><br><span>will work with you to shape them into final form, but only if they have</span><br><span>enough time. So please take a bit of time now to start the change you wish</span><br><span>to see in California for blind people. Which means it's time for</span><br><span>NFB of California members to start proposing resolutions to be debated and</span><br><span>voted on during our state convention in late October.</span><br><span></span><br><span>These resolutions have real power in guiding government, education and</span><br><span>commerce to improve their relationship to California's blind citizens. They</span><br><span>crystalize how our members feel today about important issues, and what we</span><br><span>want the wider world to do about them. </span><br><span></span><br><span>The world has changed in the last year and a half of the pandemic, and we</span><br><span>have issues in transportation, employment, education and accessibility, to</span><br><span>name just a few. You don't need to be an expert resolution-writer to make</span><br><span>an impact; some of our best resolutions have come from first-timers. </span><br><span></span><br><span>So won't you take a moment to draft a resolution that matters to you? It</span><br><span>doesn't need to be perfect, but simply to mention the reasons why it's</span><br><span>important and what you want to happen if your resolution passes. The NFBC</span><br><span>website has all the 2020 California resolutions available to use as a</span><br><span>model, if you like. And all members of the 2021 Resolutions Committee are</span><br><span>more than willing to help you get your resolution into the best format.</span><br><span>Please feel free to reach out to committee members Shannon, Cricket, Miguel,</span><br><span>Ever Lee, Rachel, Tim or me for assistance.</span><br><span></span><br><span>We'll need to have all draft resolutions to the committee no later than</span><br><span>5:00 pm on Sunday, October 10th so that the committee can do its job in</span><br><span>helping to shape them to best advantage.
