 Registration Is Now Open For The 2015 Rocky Mountain State Games

 Registration is now open for Colorado amateur athletes of all ages and
 skill levels
 to compete in the 2015 Rocky Mountain State Games, Colorado's largest
 sport festival.

 The State Games will primarily be held over two weekends this summer,
July 17-19
  & July 24-26 with more than 10,000 athletes from across the state
 expected to compete
 in 40+ sports. Swimming and figure skating will take place outside the
 two primary
 State Games weekends on June 19-21 and September 16-20, respectively.

 The Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) is a multi-sport festival for athletes of
 all ages and athletic abilities, including those with physical
 disabilities or visual
 impairment.

 Organized and managed by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, the 2015 RMSG
 will offer competition in 40+ sports with venues including U.S.
Olympic Training
  Center, Memorial Park, Colorado College and other venues in the Pikes
 Peak Region.

 The State Games concept was developed in New York in 1978 with the Empire State
 Games. Annually, more than 400,000 athletes compete in State Games
 nationwide. State
 Games feature various sports from the Olympic and Pan American Games
programs as
  well as sports with regional

popularity in each state.

 A total of 10,346 athletes from  90+ Colorado cities and towns, plus
 competitors
 from 37 different states, took part in the 2014 Rocky Mountain State Games last
 summer, a new record and a significant growth from the inaugural year
 in 2002 that
 engaged 2,016 athletes in 14 sports.

 The 2014 record turnout shattered the previous mark of 9,001 athletes
 who competed
 in the 2013 State Games in Colorado Springs, led by the top
 participation by sport:
 Color In Motion 5K (2,047), Lacrosse (1,694), Cycling (1,165), and
 Basketball (900).
