[nfbcs] IE 7 really slow

Yesterday I updated to Internet Explorer 7, because I thought it would be
more secure.  But now I have to type really slow in any input field, like
Google search, or I end up with a lot of missing characters.  I'm not a
fast typer, because of tendonitis, but this is ridiculous.
Should I set something differently?  If I want to go back to IE 6, can I
just restore?
