[nfbcs] syncing music

I have been introduced to syncing files using Media Player. However, it
appears that things must be in a playlist to sync. 

I have never used playlists before. What I would like to accomplish is to
synchronize a folder and when I delete items after listening to them, have
them deleted from the computer copy of the folder. Additionally, if items
are added to the computer folder, I would like them to be added to the
device.

Is this possible? If so, how?
