Hello fellow computer scientists:
The Reno chapter of the Nevada NFB has been working with a CS instructor in
the development of making computer games accessible to the blind; as well as
welcoming him on board as a chapter member representing the University of
Nevada, Reno (UNR).
He is currently seeking volunteers who would be interested in trying out a
bata version of a popular game that can be used by screen readers.
The information is in the forwarded message below. Good luck and have fun.
Sincerely,
Chun Chao
Northern Nevada NFB, Treasurer

Subject: [NFB-NV-L] Second Life client for the visually impaired.
Hi,
The university of nevada in Reno recently developed an application called
TextSL which allows visually impaired to access the popular virtual world of
Second Life using a screen reader. A beta version of this application can be
downloaded for free on: http://www.textsl.org
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to participate in user
studies in the Spring semester of 2009.
Sincerely, Eelke Folmer
