What I personally do is to use a tool like ghost or ntfsclone to take a
snapshot of my windows partition. Then if I have serious problems, I
just restore the snapshot and the system returns to the state it was in
at the instant I took the snapshot. YOu can backup your recovery
partition in a similar manner if you want to, although I personally
don't do that. I just get windows the way I want then snapshot it and
throw away the recovery partition. Lets me use that disk space for
something useful. You need to install *your* copy of windows before you
do that though.
