[nfbcs] Videos and buffering.

Alan,
Cable Broadband can vary in speed dependeing upon whom else is connected in your neighborhood and also what they are doing at a particular time. Try
the speed test suggested to see if you are getting the speed that is advertised. Someone else has already given you a speed web site you can go to, but I
have used
http://www.speedtest.net
in the past. There is some flash on this page and your results will disappear if you don't find them quickly enough, but there is a link that will display your
results again.
If you are not getting the speed you should be getting, it is worth unplugging and then plugging back in the AC power to your cable modem to
restart it before complaining. Check the speed test again to see if anything changed. Don't be overly worried if you are not getting the exact number you
are paying for as this number is always an estimate and is subject to exaggeration in my opinion. If you are getting less than half, even, that might be worth
complaining about but probably isn't causing your buffering problem. However, I've seen cases where the speed has fallen to a tenth of what one expects,
and this could be causing a problem.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson
