Subject: [il-talk] Steve Britt


On May 30, Steve Britt, a former member of the Sangamon Valley Chapter of the National Federationof the Blind Of Illinois passed away.  He was born on September 
21, 1953 and died on May 30, 2010.    

Steve had medical complications including a blood clot in his lung, infection in his leg and a bowel obstruction.  

Steve attended ISVI, graduated in 1972, and then attended Southern Illinois University.  He then attended Arkansas Enterprises For The Blind and became a 
Computer Programmer.

Steve worked in Springfield for the Secretary of State's Office, and later, the Department Of Public Aid, retiring in 2009.  He worked for thirty years.  

Steve was a big fan of the Optacon and was a great speed reader and proponent of reviving the Optacon.  

His service is on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Kirlin, Egan and Butler Funeral Home.  His girlfriend, 
Kathy Reed, is his closest family member.   Steve will be missed by those who knew him.
