Gary,
She can use GMAIL with any e-mail client that supports POP3 and SMTP with SSL. That means it does work with Outlook Express and Outlook as well. In
addition, if one gets stuck with the web interface, one can pick the HTML option and it is manageable. It is my understanding that POP3 is unable to delete
messages off the GMAIL server, though, so it might be necessary to use IMAP or the web interface once in a while.
