Hi Listers,
I got this yesterday and thought I would pass it along.
Susie Stanzel
Once upon a time a shark and an owl were entangled in a deadly struggle for the same territory. They fought over a piece of real estate called a CPU (acronym for Create Poverty Unit). The CPU was housed in a case (acronym for Cocaine addiction simulation environment). Once you got hooked to the CPU and its case, it would never let you go. You kept wanting more, better, faster, costing you more and more, driving you to crime or bankrupsy.
Eventually the fight between the shark and the owl resulted in a complete dead-lock. Although the shark had the most awesome Jaws with a big blue tooth, it became the victim of lockjaw and lost its power to attack and destroy the owl. On the other hand, although the owl had a pair of large Window-Eyes, it was struck with blindness and could no longer see its enemy and could consequently no longer attack the shark. It lost its way completely. (I apologise for the unfortunate use of the word "blindness", I forgot that there are those sensitive people, so let me rather say then that the owl became invisible.) Here is how the shark developed lockjaw and how the owl became invisible.
One day an unsuspecting Dolphin swam into the shark's territory. So greedy was the shark to take a byte at this tasty morsel, that it snapped at it viciously, jamming its Jaws and suffered from lockjaw ever since. "Oh, Hal," said the Dolphin as it Nod32 times and disappeared under the GoldWave hoping for a complete recovery, but already a virus infection had set in.
As for the owl, on a sunny day it was reading from its Open Book, but it lost Focus and it just made no Book Sense at all, so it looked with its large pensive Window-Eyes through its Windows into the distance, C'ing all the way to Java, but the Sun was too bright and its Blu-Ray blinded the owl (sorry, read made the owl invisible) forever.
Now that it became clear that there was no Victor and that the shark and the owl reached a very stale mate and were no longer a threat to one another, they made contact through wireless communication networks and the legacy of Louis Braille (remember, the shark had lockjaw and could no longer talk), and conspired to join forces and to destroy the Humanware by unleashing the venom of their joint frustration on the defenseless user known as dupe (acronym for Defenseless User Prey to Electronics).
Since then the poor dupe has been caught in an endless spiral of being exploited by a shark with lockjaw, an invisible owl who has lost its way, a mortally maimed Dolphin and a CPU in its case with a need so great that it can never be satisfied.
