[nfbcs] Accessibility In the Downloadable, Software Version of Kindle?

Hi Larry, and All,

I believe that there was a notice sent out by Amazon or someone, regarding
an Accessible Kindle, just before the Holidays. Probably early December,
though I can't remember when exactly. But due to that notice on an
accessible kindle, we ordered 3 of them for that household (though only one
person is blind there). Like I said, with that hardware version, the books
and Kindle seem accessible, once the books are on the Kindle. But to go and
find a book on the Internet on your own, it's not. Mike seems to be saying
that with the iPhone, it's the opposite lack of accessibility, meaning, I
guess, no real accessibility through that version of Kindle software, though
it talks thanks to the iPhone accessibility. But maybe that's older
software and not this latest version that came out around the holidays?

Strive On,
Everett

When I tried it several months ago, I found it not to be accessable at all.
I called Amazon about it and had a long discussion with them. They sounded
like at the time they were going to try to make it accessible.
