[nfbcs] Replacing an ASCII Character with Another in Excel

I am using a desktop. The find and replace does not seem to recognize the characters when you use Alt and the combination of characters. For example, when I type Alt 8217 in the find dialogue box, it is not found even though I know this is the ASCII character I want to replace. I am using the number pad to do this. Thanks.

Warm regards,

Are you using a laptop or a desktop? This affects the answer.
