Everyone,

Thank you to all who responded.

I did find out that one of the three schools online learning program is accessible because it is Desire to Learn, the one NFB ensured was accessible. I'm ecstatic since I think I will probably be able to complete the courses from this school, Regis University.

The other two, Baker and American Centinel, use Blackboard, I think so am not sure about their content.

I do have a another question about access to textbooks. If I am able to take an electronic version of a computer science textbook and translate with Duxbury or ViewPlus braille translation software, can that braille file be read using a braille display? Or, do I have to print out with an embosser into hardcopy? Are certain braille displays better for working with nemeth and computer braile? Are there specific setting that must be activated for a display to work, like having a certain type of braille code, grade 1 versus 2, or 8 dot braille?

You all can forward my message to other blind computer scientists off this list if you wish since I want to connect up with as many mentors as possible. And yes, I will check out NFB mentoring program and Blind Science web site.

Tara
