hi,
it seems that the prior version 8.0 will live longer than 30 days as a demo.

Hello there, a 40 demo Openbook will not work. It will only work for 30
days, and after those 30 days, your OCR capabilities and scanning ability
will be disabled, and then it will become just a text editor. I think it
is
probably worthless, unless she wants to try it out even though she can not
afford it.

The loest cost OCR software I know of that is accessible is text cloner
pro.
It cost $100.00 and works very well.

My Lions Club got a call from a blind woman who needs help with her
computer. Its running some version of Microsoft Windows. Probably XP.
She
has a scanner but has no software for it. Does anyone have a
recommendation
for free or low-cost OCR software for Windows?
