[nfbcs] Pairing Apex With IPAd or IPhone

Michaela,

Try the following steps if you have not done so already:

One. From the main menu of your apex, press T for braille terminal. When the "braille terminal port" prompt comes up, Chris B for Bluetooth followed by the enter key.
Two. From your iPhone or iPad, go to settings, general, accessibility, voiceover, braille.
Three. Under the cheese a braille device heading, there should be an item called "apex" followed by the last six digits of your apex is serial number. Double tap on this.
Four. A screen should come up which asks for a pin. Enter 0000 on the keypad and then double tap the pair button. Note that it only gives you about 15 seconds to do this before the operation times out. If this is successful, the two devices will be paired and you should see braille on your display.

One more suggestion: if you have tried the steps and the error you describe still comes up, make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your apex. To do this, press space with oh for the options menu followed by Sea for conductivity then followed by B for Bluetooth. If it says Bluetooth is not on, press Y for yes. I hope these suggestions help you. I am sorry for any typos in this message; I was trying to make do with dictation.
