[nfbcs] Sighted Assistance (was Re: namecheap)

There is nothing wrong with you; you said most of what I was going to say.
The only thing that I might add is that there is also the problem of not
knowing what people are doing. Yes, some people are good about telling you
what they are doing, but some are not. Although this does not normally
happen, there are people out there who would say that they are going to help
you and then deliberately not help you or do it wrong. Then there are people
who try to help but don't know how and inadvertently mess up. Finally, there
are people who know how but also think that they know better than you and
start doing all kinds of things that you did not ask them to do, and they do
it without explaining what they are doing.

Of course sighted assistance is helpful, but I, and I suspect many others,
just don't have it on a regular basis. The sighted people I know don't come
around every day, and, when they do, I don't want always to be pestering for
help. Further, most of them are not particularly computer-savvy, and
getting across what I need them to do is not as easy as one might think it
would be.

I get awful tired of people assuming I always have a sighted person at my
beck and call. I don't. Maybe that means there's something wrong with me,
but I don't think so.
Tracy
